Before getting to the heart of the matter, note that all the steps described below will allow you to buy Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin, BNB, Solana, etc.

After reading this detailed guide, buying and trading cryptos will no longer hold any secrets for you.

Decide where you want to buy cryptocurrency

It is not yet possible to buy crypto currencies through your bank. Although some organizations are working to provide this capability, it is currently not an option.

But then where to buy cryptos? In general, you can choose between an online broker and a dedicated cryptocurrency exchange (also called platform or exchange).

Online Broker: There are a few online brokers that offer the ability to buy, trade, and sell cryptocurrencies, in addition to other assets like stocks, ETFs, currencies, or commodities. These brokers, through their experience in the field, are able to offer an above-average user experience as well as relatively attractive fees.

Crypto exchange: a crypto exchange (or platform) is relatively close to a “classic” online broker. The difference is that it only focuses on buying and selling cryptocurrencies. You will therefore not be able to diversify your investments on such a platform (by buying company shares for example). On the other hand, you will generally have access to a greater number of digital assets as well as features like staking .

When comparing the different platforms, it is a good idea to take into account things like supported cryptocurrencies, security features, fees, educational resources but also the quality of customer support. It is also good to look at their seriousness and reliability.

To do this, an excellent indicator is to see if the crypto platform in question has, for example, approval from the AMF (the authority that regulates the financial markets in France). This is not everything, but given that the specifications for obtaining PSAN (Digital Asset Services Provider) certification are relatively substantial and strict, it allows you to get a fairly precise idea.

After being able to test more than a dozen different platforms and exchanges over the past few months, here are the ones we can recommend for buying, trading and selling cryptos:
